Welcome to the Quail side of Quack and Quail.

The Quail Club was stared 9 years ago to provide a place for quail hunters to come up hunt and train their dogs without being over crowed like Game Lands or Public Hunting Preserves. We started out with 2 tracks that are listed as a private hunting preserve just for its members. Our 1s track  is a 250 acre pine plantation located in the Littleton area of Halifax County. This track has a great trail system on it. This past fall about 100 acres have been clear cut and will be replanted this fall. This will give the track 3-4yrs of great quail hunting. This should also increase the wild bird population. Our 2nd track is located near Roanoke Rapids also in Halifax County. This track is 200 acres of mixed Ag fields and thinned pines with a good trail system on it too. Both of these tracks are listed as a private hunting preserve for its members.  The Roanoke track is shared with my duck and deer clubs and is open for upland hunting starting Jan 2nd . This track also see woodcock during hunting season.

Our newest track is made up of 2 farms that are side by side. These farms have big Ag fields with a lot of ditches and tree lines.  Over this past winter we have added field borders to the ditches and tree lines.  This will add plenty of cover for wild quail and pen raised birds to be put out. This will give us a 1000 acre block with improve quail habitat for hunting. This track also has a 10 acre dove field that can be hunted for the month September for the deer, duck and quail clubs.  This track opens for upland hunting Jan 2nd. This track also sees quite of bit of woodcock during hunting season

Most of the guys used pen raised birds for training and hunting. The members buy their birds from High Flight Game Birds from Dave Welch in Spring Hope Franklin County which is not far from our club.  High Flight Game Birds has a website you can go to for prices of birds. The club also has a clubhouse  that is fully loaded with heating  and a nice kitchen.

The membership is $750 and includes dove hunting and turkey hunting. For more information please contact Greg Quiel at 919-630-3022 or email Greg at
